At the heart of our local councillors role is listening to and acting on residents’ concerns. A recent issue about kerbside parking on Arundle Drive in Grantham has shown how productive community collaboration can be when we all work together.
What’s the Issue?
Residents on Arundle Drive reached out with concerns about parking along the kerbside, particularly the potential hazards it causes near driveways and junctions. One resident noted the need to extend the double yellow lines on the right-hand side of the road leading to the junction with Alnwick Way to help prevent obstruction and keep access clear.
These concerns were passed to Lincolnshire County Council’s Highways Team and swiftly logged for assessment.
Working with Highways
The County Council Highways Team has confirmed that Arundle Drive will now be monitored as part of their ongoing review of parking restrictions. This means the location is officially on the radar, and any need for additional restrictions—like extended double yellow lines—will be carefully considered as part of the periodic assessments across the area.
I appreciate the school traffic is an ongoing issue and will continue to work with the school to try and alleviate the problems.
Let’s Keep the Momentum Going
If you have concerns about road safety, access, or parking in your area, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can continue making Grantham’s roads safer and more accessible for everyone.
A huge thank you to everyone on Arundle Drive who spoke up—and to the responsive Highways team at Lincolnshire County Council for acting so quickly.
