Message from National Highways:
Following engagement with local communities and listening to safety concerns, we’ve identified a number of gaps we intend to close as a proactive safety measure. In our first phase of work, we propose to close 16 gaps between Little Ponton and South Witham whilst other road restraint barrier in the area is being upgraded. The gaps are located within the central reserve grassed area that is situated between the two opposing directions of road.
We will now consult on the detailed plans with Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, and Rutland County Councils, who will have an opportunity to formally provide their views on these proposals.
We’d like to obtain your feedback on our proposals. The gaps which you are being consulted on are numbers 20,22,23,29,30,32,33,34,36,41,43,44,46,47,55 & 57, shown on the attached site location plan. More detailed plans are also attached for each gap.
We strongly encourage you to provide your views to us now so we can take your comments into account when developing and refining our programme of work.
You can provide your response to our proposals:
- by email: a1improvements@nationalhighways.co.uk
- by post: Phil Shaw, A1 Improvements, National Highways, Stirling House, Lakeside Court, Osier Drive, Sherwood Business Park, Nottingham, NG15 0DS
To allow us time to collect and assess all responses, please ensure your feedback reaches us by 14 December 2024. Please also ensure you include the gap number you are commenting on in your response.
