Following the elections held on 4th May, SKDC has now shared details relating to the number of voters who applied for ballot papers at the polling station but were not issued a ballot paper because they needed an accepted photo ID with them. You will be aware that at some polling stations, greeters were present to advise voters on the new photo ID requirement. In line with Electoral Commission guidance and instructions, the recorded data included only those voters who needed suitable ID at the polling desk. If someone was turned away before the polling desk by a greeter/marshall, the information was optional to be recorded.
The table below shows the number of electors not issued with a ballot paper and those who later returned with suitable ID, together with percentage figures.

So in summary, 29 people out of an eligable population of 84,088 were unable to vote.
