Proposals are being put to SKDC to change vehicle access arrangements to Belton House. The National Trust proposes introducing a one-way system from Belton Lane through the Lion Gate to the car park near the house. Cars would then leave via Belton Village and on to the A607.

Once the plans are more publically available, it will be possible to comment in detail. Still, concerns have already been raised about the logic of driving so much traffic through the town and across the Manthorpe Rd / Belton Lane (Wyndham Park junction) when it’s already a bottleneck.
