Indpendent-led South Kesteven District Council is proposing to substantially change the cost of parking in its town centre car parks. While there is some good news in terms of limited free parking, the bad news is that a lot of charges will increase by over 30%. There’s a limited period to comment until the decision is finalised, so please do let think ([email protected])
Below is the formal notification and links to the details:
Variation to South Kesteven District Council’s Civil Enforcement (Off Street) Parking Order 2023
The Council is inviting those who live and work in South Kesteven, as well as those who visit, to comment on a variation to South Kesteven District Council’s Civil Enforcement (Off Street) Parking Order 2023.
What is a Civil Enforcement (Off Street) Parking Order?
A Civil Enforcement (Off Street) Parking Order is the legal basis for providing parking spaces, setting appropriate charges, and enforcing restrictions.
What does the variation involve?
SKDC is proposing to vary its current off street parking order (which has been in place since 2023) by introducing revised charges and is asking people for their views on these changes.
Which car parks are subject to South Kesteven District Council’s Civil Enforcement (Off Street) Parking Order and, as such, will be subject to the revised charges?
The car parks where the revised charges will apply are:
- Guildhall Street (Greenwoods Row), Grantham (Short Stay)
- Wharf Road Multi Storey, Grantham (Short Stay)
- Watergate Grantham (Short Stay)
- Conduit Lane Grantham (Short Stay)
- Welham Street Multi Storey Grantham (Long Stay)
- Bath Row, Stamford (Short Stay)
- Scotgate, Stamford (Short Stay)
- St Leonards Street, Stamford (Short Stay)
- North Street, Stamford (Short Stay)
- Cattlemarket, Stamford (Long Stay)
- Wharf Road, Stamford (Long Stay)
What are the new charges? How different are they to those currently in place?
When will the revised charges come into effect?
The change to charges in each of the car parks listed above, if approved, will apply from 20 January, 2025, onwards.
