Lincolnshire County Council recently received a request to review the waiting restrictions in the vicinity of Poplar Farm Primary School.
Investigations have shown that inconsiderate and dangerous parking is occurring on the bend and on the surrounding junctions causing safety concerns for all road users.
The following restrictions are proposed:
- No Waiting at Any Time on the junctions of Pembrooke Avenue, Penrhyn Way and Helmsley Road and on the bends on Helmsley Road
- No Waiting Mon – Fri 8.15-9.15am and 2.45 -3.45pm in the vicinity of properties no 20 to 32 on Helmsley Road
The proposed restrictions will maintain traffic flow and improve visibility and safety for all road users.
The proposal is shown on the attached plan and I look forward to receiving any comments you may wish to make. If we do not receive a response by 1st March 2024, we will assume that you have no objections to the proposal.

I would like to see the no waiting on Helmsley extended to all along the first bit as you enter off Penrhyn Way (up to the bend). Lots of the issues are caused not just by people on bends, but by people having to drive on the wrong side of the road around cars parked on the straight bit near Penrhyn. The number of times you turn into Helmsley to be faced with an oncoming vehicle on the wrong side of the road is an accident waiting to happen.
